Cyprus weather is to die for, well not literally ! Today Cyprus is becoming one of the most popular destinations for people to take vacations to all year round due to the climate in Cyprus.
The reason being that the Cyprus weather is great, not only do you have long hot summers but the weather during the winter months is fantastic as well. Cyprus is the largest island to be found in the Eastern Mediterranean and has plenty of sunshine all year round in fact it can boast that it has about 300 days of sunshine each year.
However, probably the most popular time for many people to visit the island is in spring when you find all the trees and flowers in bloom and the temperatures have not yet reached their highest. Because it is so close to Southwest Asia often you find that Cyprus is one of the hottest places in the Mediterranean and during the height of summer the pressure that comes up from North Africa keeps the temperatures on the island at their highest. Certainly during the months between May and September the temperatures are consistently over 30 degrees centigrade and the skies are cloudless and the chances of rain falling are almost no existent. However if you were to visit some of the coastal areas during this time you would find the heat a little more bearable because of the breezes that are blowing in from the sea.
But if you really are looking for somewhere to visit that can offer you plenty of sunshine but lower temperatures then Cyprus may be best visited during the spring. Not only do you find that the days are sunny but the temperatures during this time of year sit between 23 and 27 degrees centigrade. However if you want to avoid the rain in Cyprus then you should not vacation there during the winter months (December to February) as this is when most of the rain falls. But even so the weather is still mild and normally you do not see the temperatures falling much below 17 degrees centigrade during these months.
Yet if you are someone who does not want to spend all their time on the beach sunbathing then a trip to the Troodos Mountains may be an idea. During the summer months the temperatures in this part of Cyprus can often be between 10 and 15 degrees lower than those to be found at the coastal resorts, plus during the winter months there is also snow on the higher elevations to be found.
So if you are looking for somewhere to vacation that not only offers you plenty of sunshine but are looking for somewhere that is so diverse in its landscape then you may want to consider Cyprus.
