A closer look at holidays in Cyprus. There are many reasons as to why more and more people are taking a holiday in Cyprus today.
Certainly probably the main reason is that the weather is good for approximately 340 days of the year. During this time you will find that there is constant sunshine and certainly during the winter months the temperature does not fall much below 17 degrees centigrade whilst in the summer the temperatures can go up past 30 degrees centigrade.
Certainly there are plenty of companies which are now offering package holidays as well as named accommodation holidays to this island the birth place of Aphrodite. Also not only are there great hotels on the island but there are also some cheap but excellent hotels as well which provide the traveler with accommodation only holidays. You can even today now rent an apartment in Cyprus which provides you with a chance to taste all the delights that the island has to offer.
The great thing about Cyprus as a holiday destination is that not only is a place where you can spend all day at the beach topping up your suntan but it offers a variety of other activities as well. You can take time out to visit many of its historical sites such as the Tombs of the Kings, the Curium Amphitheatre, the Kykko Monastery and the old Crusader Castles. But because of its fantastic beaches such as those found at Ayia Napa and Nissi Beach there are plenty of water activities to be found from scuba diving to wind surfing.
Certainly when on holiday in Cyprus the food is beautiful and will often be plentiful and very healthy as well. Certainly many meals you will find consist of big salads, yogurt and fresh bread along with meat and fish courses. If you want to be a little more adventurous you could try the dolomades which is vine leaves that have been stuffed with meat and vegetables, also you might to try a meze which consists of a plate of either fish or meat of various kinds.
Most people upon returning home from a holiday in Cyprus will often not only look great because of the sun, but will often feel better in themselves. This is probably not only down to the food and drink, but also to the friendly welcome that they receive from the Cypriots during their stay.
